Bike MS details
Ordinary people, just like you, are taking extraordinary challenges to make this a world free of MS. Are you up for the challenge? Get your heart pumping and your mind racing as you push yourself beyond limits you never dreamed possible!
When you register for Bike MS Tour de Farms, here’s what you have to look forward to:
- Rest Stops every 10-15 miles stocked with fresh fruit, snacks and refreshing beverages;
- Full lunch both days, dinner on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday;
- Advice to help you reach your fundraising goals;
- Bike mechanics at the main site and constantly roving the route; Group ride training and safety information;
- Smiling volunteers cheering you on and keeping your spirits lifted when the cycling gets tough;
- All the fun you could hope for: enjoy themed rest stops and excitement at the finish line.
Start/Finish Location
The Bike MS Tour de Farms is located at the Northern Illinois University Convocation Center. This is just a hop, skip and a jump away from the NIU Stevenson Towers Dorms and provides plenty of parking spaces for all participants. The address for the Convocation Center is below.

What to Pack/ Bring:
- There are very few things that are certain in this world.
The fact that it WILL rain at some point during the weekend is one of those few certainties, so be sure to pack your rain gear.
EVERYONE should pack:
- Emergency Contact Information Card
- ID (Mandatory)
- Credit Card/Cash
- Medical Insurance Card
- Clothes to wear Saturday Night on the Farm
- Rain Jacket and Pants
- Hat
- Comfortable shoes/sneakers
- Flip flops or sandals
- Sleepwear
- Camera/Film (label film & disposable cameras with your Name and Participant number)
- Spare sunglasses
- Journal/pen
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellent
- Lip balm
- Prescription medications
- Medical Alert bracelets/necklaces
RIDERS should also pack:
- ANSI/SNELL approved cycling Helmet (mandatory you will not be permitted to ride without a helmet)
- Your bike (mandatory)
- Jerseys
- Bike shorts
- Socks
- Cycling gloves
- Windbreaker/Cycling jacket
- Shoe covers (will help keep those socks dry)
- Sweat band or bandannas to wear under your helmet
- Bike Shoes
- Pump (recommended)
- Patch kit, tire irons (recommended)
- Water bottles and/or Hydration Pack (required)
- Spare tubes
- Seat bag
- Mini bike tools
- Bike computer
- Spare cleats
- Bike tires (carry one in gear bag)
- Shower cap (to cover your bike seat at night)
VOLUNTEERS should also pack:
- Sturdy, closed-toe shoes
- Volunteer T-shirts (these will be provided on Friday evening or Saturday morning)
- Work gloves
- Water bottle
- Bag to carry items
